Pipeline foes urge Albany to halt the Algonquin project

Opponents of the Algonquin natural gas pipeline expansion delivered 30,000 petition signatures to Albany on Tuesday, calling for Gov. Andrew Cuomo to halt the project.

Petitioners also asked the state to conduct an independent risk assessment of potential hazards from the natural gas pipeline that runs close to nuclear reactors at Indian Point in Buchanan.
