Locals speak out on proposed pipeline expansion

The possible widening of the regional Algonquin Pipeline in the next few years, which would transmit more shale gas to Northeast customers, prompted a forum at Mahopac Public Library earlier this month where dozens of locals got a better understanding of Spectra Energy Corporation’s plans and gave them an opportunity to express concerns over what they believe are possible side effects from living near natural gas pipelines and compressor stations.
