Re “Engel urges feds to assess cyber security for Algonquin,” Dec. 27 article:

The recent revelation of a 2013 cyber attack to the Bowman Dam in Rye Brook was a disturbing confirmation of the vulnerability of our infrastructure. This exposure to an attack received national media attention and a call from Sen. Charles Schumer and U.S. Rep. Eliot Engel for action. Had the threat been carried out, the damage may have been limited to a few hundred residents living downstream of the dam. However, the incident was a wake-up call that we must take a comprehensive look at where our greatest vulnerabilities lie, where our security is lax, and where control of vulnerabilities is slipping between agencies.
